I work for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity looking after the nation's lungs. Together, we're making sure that one day everyone will breathe clean air with healthy lungs. we believe that every breath matters - and that the right to breathe freely applies to everybody, regardless of income, age, ethnicity, gender, or background.
I joined the Board during the first lockdown so I haven’t met many of the other Board Members face to face because all our meetings have been on Zoom which is inclusive and keeps everyone safe.
I was delighted to be asked to stay on the board when I switched jobs, I feel that my current role really gives me the opportunity to speak out and represent the community of people living with a lung condition on Anglesey which is especially important as we reflect on the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

My name is Bill Hadfield and I am treasurer and board member of Medrwn Môn. I represent Benllech and District Good turn scheme (Chairman) and I have been a member of the board for over 6 years now.
I feel it is important to take part because of the support and guidance provided by Medrwn Môn. I also see how effective it is to maintain contact with other groups and organizations within the voluntary sector to ensure that our views are fed into future changes.

In my daily work I am Barnardo`s Children's Service Manager. So I was nominated to be a member of the Board to represent a third sector agency on Anglesey. I do not have a specific role on the Board but I will regularly attend Medrwn Môn Management Board Meetings. So I feel that my role is mainly to promote the work of the third sector and when necessary to challenge positively.
I have been on the board for about 8 years now.
I am on the board be a strong voice for the community in order to work towards a better future for the residents of Anglesey. This is definitely during the pandemic.

I am a co-opted member of the Board but have been associated with Medrwn Mon for many years . I was Chief Officer of Anglesey Community Health Council for over 20 years and we had voluntary sector reps on this Council. As the Patient Health watchdog this link was useful. I was vice Chair of Medrwn Mon in 2010 and Chair 2011 to 5 after I had retired from the CHC and finished as a Non Exec Director of the NW Wales Health Board in 2009. At the moment I am not as active but rely on previous links and experience. I presently represent the Llangefni Tai chi group on the Board. Recently I have put the lead in this in touch with the developing initiative in Llanerchymedd. Having worked in the voluntary sector myself over many years it is important to support volunteers and to ensure that they are valued. I think this is the most important role of Medrwn Mon and by bringing the many different volunteers together and enabling them to liaise with each other and thanking them for all their various contributions is a vital role.
